Many things have been said and written about Jesse Murrah, Jr., flattering and not so flattering, according to those associated with him. This enigmatic character was born in the inner city of Louisville, Ky and“digged” his feet into the world of R & B music at an early age. With 'book smarts' and street savvy, Jesse was driven and influenced by the vocal groups of the Motown Era with their precise vocal styling and their pitch perfect 'show-time' approach to the stage. He is own groups and performed in garage bands in his neighborhood after his parents moved he and his six other siblings away from the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Louisville to a middle-class area called Newburg. It was there his mother Arleater, found The Lord at The Newburg Church of Christ and the family, one by one, followed suit breaking away from Community Baptist Church of Louisville. His love for secular music was soon replaced by his love for Jesus.
